About the work:
Using Hurricane Katrina as a catalyst, I focus on the continuing problems faced by contemporary society and the struggle to find an equilibrium between human existence and an ever-changing natural environment. My work deals on an allusive feeling of control within one’s shelter, within one’s identity, and questions the ability to create (or re-create) a sense of place or self once either (or both) is lost.
