Patti Hallock
Patti Hallock received her BFA in photography from the University
of Colorado at Denver and MFA at Parsons in Photography and Related Media. Her photographic
work is focused on expressing loneliness and isolation and the ways in which we experience
those feelings within or because of our environment.
Her work began in Colorado in 2003 with the series, Nocturnal Suburbia, where she
photographed her own suburban neighborhood at night to describe the isolation that
can result because of the environment we build for ourselves. Patti has since moved
indoors to begin a closer investigation into the psychology of space. By exploring the
basement she has uncovered a new layer inside the family home that exposes our emotional
landscape, depicting how we treat our possessions, and thereby, how we treat one another.
Patti lives and works in New York City.
